How to maintain the nozzle of the salt spray test chamber ?

The salt spray corrosion test requires a salt spray chamber to produce salt spray. The key is that the test solution is sprayed through a nozzle under a certain pressure of compressed air. The quality of the nozzle directly affects the success or failure of the test.

When manufacturing the nozzle, the nozzle has a strict control on the aperture and bending angle of the nozzle to ensure that the salt spray conforming to the standard can be produced. In practical applications, the nozzle is often clogged and broken, which affects the normal test. It introduces some small tricks to better protect the nozzle of the salt spray test chamber.

1. Using distilled or deionized water to reduce impurities in the water and reducing the chance of clogging the nozzle.

2. Installing the oil-water separator to avoid the introduction of water vapor and oil in the air when compressing the air, so that the oil adheres to the nozzle wall. Due to the small pore size of the nozzle, both the impurities in the water and the oil adhering to it will affect the formation of salt spray.

3. In order to avoid the nozzle by impacted when installing the nozzle or blocking the nozzle after the dredge, you should pay attention to gently handle, do not use excessive force to break the nozzle.

4. The spray pressure setting strength should not be too large, the pressure under normal conditions is between 0.07mp-0.17mp, if the pressure is too large, the nozzle is broken.

The above are some daily precautions for nozzles. If the spray volume is too large/too small or not sprayed during the salt spray test chamber test, check whether the nozzle is normal. If the nozzle aperture is too large, it should be replaced. If it is blocked, apply a thin wire and gently pass it.
