Placement of test samples in salt spray test chamber

The salt spray test chamber is a kind of assessment of the salt spray corrosion of the material and its protective layer, as well as the comparison of the process quality of similar protective layers, and at the same time the ability of some products to resist salt spray corrosion.

When the salt spray test chamber is used for experimentation, how can the test sample be placed in the chamber to be more perfect?

1. The sample is placed in a salt spray test chamber with the test surface facing up, so that the salt spray can settle freely on the surface of the test surface, and the surface of the test object cannot be directly sprayed by the salt spray.

2. The sample should be laid flat in principle. In the salt spray test chamber, the surface of the test is 15 ℃to 30 ℃from the vertical direction and 20 ℃as much as possible. For irregular samples, the above requirements should be as close as possible.

3. The samples can be placed on different horizontal surfaces in the box, but they must not touch the box or touch each other. The distance between the specimens shall not affect the free fall of the salt spray on the surface of the test, and the droplets on the specimen shall not fall on other specimens. For new tests or tests with a total test period of more than 96 h, the sample may be allowed to shift.

4. The sample holder can be made of glass, plastic, etc. The material of the hanging sample cannot be made of metal, but artificial fiber, cotton fiber or other insulating material is applied.
